...which is an interesting application, but a little too cumbersome for me to use. Its paradigm is that of print publishing (a lot of the artists published by TokyoPop use it), so it incorporates a lot of layout and publishing tools in it. And it generates high-resolution files that look great printed at 300 dpi, but not so good on the Web. This pic, for example: its original dimensions are 2000 x 2941; trust me, it doesn't look good at that size. The dots are huge! (That's one of the things that make Manga Studio "interesting": you can replicate the look of "authentic" manga (whatever that means) through the use of "digital Zip-A-Tone" and other shading techniques.) But as I said, it's cumbersome for me to use. Maybe because I'm so used to the workflow I'm using now, because it seems so much simpler. I recently did a color version of this piece for the temporary front page of the new Tetsuko site. (That one looks okay in hi-res.) Download size 800 x 1176 |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
