I don't know which I hated drawing more - the chain or the costume.
Don't get me wrong - I loved that costume. When I didn't have to draw it. It's a lot more complicated than it looks! But a purchase I made some years ago turned out to be very helpful: a plastic figurine of Leia in the slave-girl costume. The colors on it weren't quite right, but then again I found it kind of difficult to determine exactly what the costume colors were supposed to be! Are the metal parts of the costume brass or copper? The cloth (or at least non-metal) parts of the bra - greenish, or brown? Studying the photos I found at this [link] (thanks to ) doesn't lead me to any definite conclusion; the text at the site states that the costume was made of "gold and Lashaa silk and featuring Jerba leather boots", but some of the photos made it look like copper! So I went with something kind of between brass and copper for the metal fittings, and between brown and green for the bra.
And the chain? Well, I'd already started drawing a regular old chain in the picture, when I saw this picture, and saw that those bastards at Lucasfilm has designed and made their own chains! Now I had a substantial length of chain to redraw
But I managed to get it done.
This is the first time I've deliberately tried to coordinate a character with a month relevant to that character. So what's the connection between May and Princess Leia? Mmm, I'll let you guess
It had to happen sometime, and Tet-chan breathes new life into the fantasy. Truthfully, I never found Carrie Fisher all that attractive in it. Tet-chan, on the other hand, well, use your imagination.

You wanna see ugly? I should post some pics of that figurine I mentioned using as part of my reference - the figure was okay, but the face tried too hard to be a likeness of Fisher. (Not saying that Fisher is ugly, but this face is!)

MOK-KOS is the name of an ugly KOS-MOS action figure packed in with the Japanese release of Xenosaga Episode II. It's something of an internet joke on Japanese sites, much like the Mudkips meme or something would be here.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
