I don't know if it's a bug I picked up in Virginia, or when I went back to work on Monday, but Tuesday night I started feeling a bit weird; I could feel the beginnings of post-nasal drip. Couldn't sleep well that night, so next morning I thought my extreme drowsiness was due to lack of sleep. But a nap on the couch turned into an all-evening affair, with a fever that went to 101 at one point before some Motrin knocked it down. Thank the Great Maker I have my own personal Florence Nightingale

who'll take care of me when I'm sick. I just hope now that
she doesn't catch whatever I had!
I'm feeling much better now, but I've lost quite a bit of time I was going to devote to art. Well, maybe tomorrow...

Short version: I found the name "Tetsu-Ko" in the novel Shogun by James Clavell, who translated it as "Lady of Steel". Cool name for a manga/anime-style muscle-girl, ne? The rest just kinda followed more-or-less logically...

My Concerns
Artist stop censoring your own work. If you follow DA's rules for posting adult oriented work , warnings and age locks, and some one still complains it's because they were looking for something to raise hell about. By censoring your own work you are creating an atmosphere where the prudish minority is restricting the rights of the majority in what art can be displayed. This emboldens them and empowers to make worse demands latter. I was lead to believe DA was a free from censorship web sight when I first logged on, I have seen sense then more artists blocked who followed the rules. I have also noted at least 3 artist hunters who only pleasure is to complain about adult oriented art. You make an agreement with DA when you log on But DA also makes one with you, if you follow there submission rules there should not be any reprisals. If the DA staff is allowing Art Hunting because it is to much trouble to deal with then shame on them! For the most part I love Deviant Art's site and other than the above I have few complaints. If you feel they discriminate and you would have to censor your own work to display it then display elsewhere. Be proud of your work, not cowed by bizzy-bodies who can't imagine beautiful work because there life is drab and passionless.
4 Key Points
#1. A nude is nude. Partial nude is not a nude.
#2. Frontal Nudes expose what is up front male or female.
#2a "A frontal nude of person without there genitals exposed is an underwear ad," as my old art teacher use to say in the class I payed to much for," and are not nudes".
#3. Artfully placed smoke effects that cover only genitals are fake and an insult. They are not nudes, see #2a.
#4. Shadows that conceal the details, but not the presence of (ie: one can see a defined shape.) the genitals is nudity.
#4a. A shadow or blackness that totally obscures the presence of the genitals but leaves the rest of the body exposed is a cop out. One can see as much at the beach. No matter how good the piece ,the viewer is left with the feeling of incompleteness.
"It is better to shock the audience than leaving the work incomplete" La'Sevt painter 18th century.
The Big Fear
I agree one one point: pedophilia is wrong!! I also understand that not all young nudes are pedophilia. A baby on a bear skin rug in the nude is not pedo. A locker room full of teenage girls showering is fan service not pedo. any sexual depiction ,or through innuendo, of some one not of the age of consent is pedo. If stated that they are of the age of consent or already of sexual maturity and are observably so ,in the case "photographic art", then by International law covering the protection of minors it is NOT Pedophilia!
Photographic Art depicting obvious minors in sexual positions with or without an adult in accompaniment is pedophilia.
In the protection of minors I side with the letter of International law, ,period.
